Equipment Servicing
Scuba diving is an equipment intensive sport that relies on regular maintenance and qualified checkups to keep you safe. Why would you trust your underwater life support system to just anyone?
Our service technician, Yuji Shibahara, is renowned in New Zealand for his skill and qualification in servicing the top brands and latest technologies of scuba equipment available today, and has extensive knowledge of a wide variety of older models as well.
Regular servicing of your equipment keeps it in good condition, working well when you need it and extending it's life span. It also gives you the peace of mind you need when you dive!
Quantity discounts are available for clubs or schools who would like to service large numbers of equipment. In most cases, servicing can be completed within a few days, although in some cases it will take longer. If you need your equipment in a hurry we can arrange a priority service - please ask for details at the service centre.
Servicing available includes:
- Regulators & Second Stages
- Bouyancy Compensators
- Nitrox Servicing
- Computer Battery Replacements
- Cylinder Testing / Filling (Air / Nitrox)
Pure Air Fills and Cylinder Testing
Under current regulations no person may fill a vessel with compressed gas unless they are an approved filler (HASNO Act Regulation 59), and no person may fill any vessel if the air provided does not comply with AS NZS 2299 or AS 3848 (NZ Gazette No. 35 Schedule 4 26 Mar 04).
Our Cylinder Filling and Testing Station is checked regularly by the New Zealand Underwater Association to ensure that Earth2ocean meets the standards required for Cylinder testing stations, and our air is regularly tested to ensure a high standard of air purity.
If you are a regular diver in Tauranga, take advantage of the great savings you can get at Earth2ocean by pre-buying your 'pure air' fills. Drop your tank in to us, we'll fill it while you wait or you can pick it up later that day. Concessions are available in 10 fill ($60.00/$6 fill) or 20 fill ($110.00/$5.50 fill) cards. Casual fill rates are $7.00 per tank while you wait, or $8.00 stored.
Hire Gear
- A minimum 1 day or part thereof hire is charged.
- A credit card number or other security is required for all hire.
- Proof of diver certification is required for BCD or Regulator rental, irrespective of purpose.
