Why would you buy from your local dealer rather than buy cheaper products online?
Here are just a few reasons:
It keeps dollars in your local economy. Buying from your local dealer supports your community, it's families, and it's businesses.
It creates local jobs. Local businesses are better at creating jobs for you and your neighbours.
It takes advantage of local expertise. Your local dive store is owned and operated by your friends and neighbors, and they have a vested interest in knowing how to serve you. They're passionate about what they (and you) do. Why not take advantage of it?
Touch & Feel. You can try before you buy, and be sure that your product will serve your purpose and your interests.
Avoid 'grey' and 'black' traders. Products purchased online sometimes don't carry the same manufacturer's warranties, or they are cheap copies of well-known brands rather than the real deal.
Gear sales at dive shops support the whole operation - including servicing, air fills, trips and charters, training, 'shooting the breeze' and 'tyre-kicking'. When divers no longer need these services, online stores will be the best way to go every time. But we can't see that happening anytime soon.
Most of our prices on this online store are between 10% and 40% off normal retail prices recommended by the distributors. If you think you might like to buy them, great - but why not check with your local dive shop and see if they will match the price first? It can't hurt to ask, can it?
